- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup soft caramel bits or chopped caramel candies
- Optional: 1/2 cup chopped peanuts
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together butter, peanut butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in egg and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Fold in chocolate chips, caramel bits, and peanuts if using.
- Drop rounded tablespoon-sized balls onto baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are set and cookies are slightly golden.
- Cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
Use soft caramel bits for best results—they melt beautifully without spreading too much. Slightly underbake for chewy centers. Add a sprinkle of sea salt on top for a gourmet touch.
