Description
Orchard Red Sangria is a cozy, fruit-forward sangria inspired by the harvest season. It combines rich red wine with crisp apples, sweet pears, and plums for a deliciously smooth, lightly spiced drink — perfect for autumn gatherings or cool-weather sipping.

- 1 bottle (750ml) red wine (like Rioja, Merlot, or Zinfandel)
- ½ cup apple cider
- ¼ cup brandy
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey (optional)
- 1 apple, thinly sliced
- 1 pear, thinly sliced
- 1 plum, pitted and sliced
- ½ orange, sliced
- 1 cinnamon stick (optional)
- 1 cup sparkling water or ginger ale (added before serving)
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Create the Base: In a large pitcher, mix red wine, apple cider, brandy, and maple syrup or honey. Stir well.
- Add Orchard Fruit: Stir in sliced apple, pear, plum, and orange. Add a cinnamon stick if using.
- Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 3–4 hours, or overnight for deeper flavor.
- Add Fizz & Serve: Just before serving, add sparkling water or ginger ale and ice. Stir gently and pour into glasses with fruit.
Notes
Use firm, flavorful fruit like Honeycrisp apples and Bosc pears. For more spice, add star anise or a dash of ground cinnamon. This sangria is also delicious gently warmed for a mulled effect.
