  • 12 oz lo mein or spaghetti noodles
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 3 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

  1. Cook noodles according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, brown ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add garlic and ginger; sauté for 30 seconds.
  4. In a bowl, whisk soy sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, cornstarch, and sesame oil.
  5. Pour sauce into skillet and simmer 2–3 minutes until thickened.
  6. Toss cooked noodles into the sauce until well coated.
  7. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

Add broccoli, bell peppers, or snap peas for extra texture. Use ground turkey for a lighter version.
