  • Author: Recipe Inspire
  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 12 sliders 1x

Description

These Mini Beef Sliders with Caramelised Onions are juicy, flavorful, and irresistibly bite-sized—perfect for parties, game days, or holiday gatherings. With tender beef patties, sweet golden onions, melty cheese, and soft slider buns, they’re a guaranteed crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 recommended)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
  • 12 mini slider buns
  • 6 slices cheddar or American cheese, halved
  • Caramelised Onions
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar (optional, for sweeter onions)
  • 12 tbsp water, if needed
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add butter and olive oil, then add the sliced onions.
  2. Cook slowly for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until deep golden. Add brown sugar for extra sweetness if desired. Add a splash of water if onions begin to stick. Season with salt and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, combine ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently—do not overwork the meat.
  4. Form 12 small patties, slightly larger than the buns (they shrink as they cook).
  5. Heat olive oil in a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Cook patties 2–3 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
  6. Top each patty with half a slice of cheese and let it melt.
  7. Toast slider buns lightly in a skillet or oven.
  8. Assemble: bottom bun → beef patty → caramelised onions → top bun.
  9. Serve immediately while warm and melty.

Notes

For extra flavor, brush sliders with melted garlic butter before serving. You can also add pickles, a smear of mayo, or spicy aioli. Caramelised onions can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 4 days.
