Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 12 oz pasta (fettuccine, linguine, or penne)
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta: Cook pasta in salted boiling water according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
  2. Season shrimp: Toss shrimp with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  3. Sear shrimp: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook shrimp 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  4. Make the sauce: In the same skillet, add garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add sun-dried tomatoes, heavy cream, chicken broth, Italian seasoning, and Parmesan. Simmer 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Combine: Add cooked pasta and shrimp to the sauce. Toss to coat, adding reserved pasta water as needed for a silky consistency.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, use oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes. Add a splash of white wine to the sauce for depth, or swap shrimp for chicken if desired.
