  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Set oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Mix wet ingredients: Beat butter and brown sugar until creamy. Add maple syrup, egg, pumpkin puree, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  3. Combine dry ingredients: In another bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, spices, and salt.
  4. Mix together: Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture until just combined. Fold in nuts if using.
  5. Bake: Drop spoonfuls of dough onto prepared baking sheets and bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are set. Cool on a wire rack.
