  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter, maple syrup, and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in egg and vanilla extract until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix into the wet ingredients until a dough forms.
  5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets. Flatten slightly with the back of a fork.
  6. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden. Cool on sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg on top before baking. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
