- ½ cup vegetable oil

- 1 cup hot coffee or hot water

- ½ cup heavy cream

- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Beat until smooth.
- Slowly stir in hot coffee until the batter is thin and well combined.
- Divide batter evenly between prepared pans.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool cakes in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For the frosting, beat butter until creamy.
- Add powdered sugar, cocoa powder, cream, vanilla, and salt. Beat until fluffy and smooth.
- Frost the cooled cake layers and decorate as desired.
Notes
For an extra romantic touch, garnish with chocolate curls, fresh berries, or a drizzle of chocolate ganache. This cake tastes even better the next day!
