  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 45 lemons)
  • 1/23/4 cup sugar or honey (adjust to taste)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slices and extra blueberries for garnish

  1. In a small saucepan, combine blueberries and 1/4 cup water. Cook over medium heat 5 minutes until blueberries soften.
  2. Mash blueberries and strain to remove skins, reserving juice.
  3. In a large pitcher, combine blueberry juice, lemon juice, and sugar or honey. Stir until sweetener dissolves.
  4. Add remaining cold water and stir well.
  5. Fill glasses with ice and pour lemonade over.
  6. Garnish with lemon slices and blueberries.
  7. Serve chilled and enjoy.

Notes

Adjust sweetness to your taste preference. For a sparkling version, replace half the water with sparkling water. Can be prepared in advance and chilled; stir before serving.
