- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tbsp butter, cut into small pieces

- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.
- Season ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Layer sliced potatoes in the bottom of the dish.
- Add sliced onion over the potatoes.
- Spread seasoned ground beef evenly on top.
- In a bowl, mix cream of mushroom soup with milk and pour over beef.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese and dot with butter.
- Cover with foil and bake for 50 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake another 10–15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
You can substitute cream of chicken soup or add sliced carrots for extra veggies. For crispier potatoes, slice them very thin.
