  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

Instructions

  1. Prepare patties: In a bowl, combine ground beef, onion, egg, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Form into 4 equal patties.
  2. Cook patties: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties 4–5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make gravy: In the same skillet, melt butter. Whisk in flour and cook 1–2 minutes until golden. Slowly add beef broth, whisking constantly until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Serve: Pour gravy over patties and serve with mashed potatoes or vegetables.

Notes

For extra flavor, sauté additional onions until caramelized and add to the gravy. You can also add mushrooms for a mushroom gravy variation.
