Description
These Halloween Vampire Bite Cupcakes are red velvet treats with a creamy surprise in the center. Decorated with a ‘vampire bite’ using frosting and candy blood, they are perfect for a spooky Halloween party.

- 1 box red velvet cake mix (or homemade red velvet batter)
- Ingredients required for cake mix (usually eggs, oil, water)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Red gel food coloring (optional, for vampire bite effect)
- Mini chocolate chips or candy eyes for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat oven as directed on cake mix box. Line muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- Prepare red velvet batter according to instructions and fill liners 2/3 full.
- Bake according to package directions or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.
- Make cream cheese frosting: beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla until fluffy.
- Core a small hole in each cupcake and fill with cream cheese frosting. Top with remaining frosting.
- Use red gel or drizzle to create vampire bite marks on frosting. Add chocolate chips or candy eyes if desired.
Notes
For extra effect, use a piping bag for precise vampire bite marks. You can make these ahead and refrigerate until serving.
