Description
These Halloween Vampire Bite Cupcakes are spooky, dramatic, and absolutely delicious! With rich red velvet cake, a sweet ‘bloody’ raspberry filling, and fang marks on top, they’re the perfect Halloween dessert for party tables or trick-or-treat night.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box red velvet cake mix (or homemade batter)
- Ingredients required for cake mix (eggs, oil, water)
- 1/2 cup raspberry jam or cherry pie filling
- 12 cupcake liners
- 1 cup vanilla frosting
- Red gel food coloring or edible blood gel
- Toothpick or skewer (for making fang marks)
Instructions
- Make cupcakes: Prepare red velvet cake batter according to package or recipe instructions. Line muffin tin with cupcake liners and fill each 2/3 full. Bake and let cool completely.
- Fill cupcakes: Use a small knife to cut out the center of each cupcake. Fill each hole with 1–2 teaspoons of raspberry jam or cherry filling. Replace tops.
- Frost: Pipe or spread vanilla frosting over each cupcake.
- Decorate: Use a toothpick to poke two small fang holes in the top of each cupcake. Drizzle red gel food coloring or edible blood down from the holes to mimic vampire bites.
- Serve: Chill slightly to set the “blood,” then serve spooky and delicious!
Notes
For extra effect, serve with a plastic fang or pipette filled with red syrup! These cupcakes can be made a day ahead and stored in the fridge until ready to serve.
