Scale
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper, to taste

- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp cold butter, cubed
- 3/4 cup milk
Instructions
Instructions
- Cook the beef: In a large skillet or pot, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
- Add onions and garlic; cook until softened, 2–3 minutes.
- Stir in beef broth, milk, butter, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper. Bring to a gentle simmer.
- Make the dumplings: In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until crumbly. Stir in milk until a soft dough forms.
- Form dumplings: Drop spoonfuls of dough into the simmering beef mixture.
- Cover and cook for 12–15 minutes, or until dumplings are fluffy and cooked through.
- Serve warm with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
Do not lift the lid while the dumplings cook — the trapped steam ensures they become light and fluffy. For extra flavor, add peas or carrots into the beef mixture.
