- 1 loaf day-old bread (cubed, about 10 cups)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 3 celery stalks, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 1/2 cups chicken or turkey broth

- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a large baking dish.
- Spread cubed bread on a baking sheet and toast lightly for 10–15 minutes, until slightly crisp.
- In a large skillet, melt butter and sauté onion, celery, and garlic until softened, about 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine toasted bread cubes, sautéed vegetables, and seasonings.
- Pour in broth and beaten eggs, stirring gently until bread is evenly moistened (add more broth if needed).
- Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish and cover with foil.
- Bake covered for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake an additional 15–20 minutes until golden brown on top.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve warm.
Notes
This stuffing can be prepared a day in advance and baked before serving. For a vegetarian version, use vegetable broth instead of chicken/turkey broth.
