- Dough:
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Garlic Butter Topping:
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Activate yeast: In a small bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- Make dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add egg, melted butter, and yeast mixture. Mix until dough forms.
- Knead: Knead on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
- Shape rolls: Punch down dough, divide into 12 pieces, shape into balls, and place in a greased baking dish.
- Second rise: Cover and let rolls rise for 30–40 minutes until puffy.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake rolls for 15–18 minutes until golden brown.
- Garlic butter: Mix melted butter, garlic, parsley, and salt. Brush over hot rolls and serve warm.
Notes
You can make the dough ahead of time and refrigerate overnight for a slow rise. Bake fresh the next day for the best flavor.
