- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1 cup warm milk (110°F / 43°C)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- Optional garnish: fresh parsley, melted butter for brushing
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm milk. Let sit 5–10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add melted butter, minced garlic, egg, and yeast mixture. Mix until dough forms.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
- Punch down dough and divide into 12–15 equal portions. Shape into rolls and place on a greased baking sheet.
- Cover and let rise for another 30–40 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake rolls for 18–22 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush warm rolls with melted garlic butter and sprinkle with parsley if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
For extra flavor, mix softened butter with garlic and herbs and brush over warm rolls. Rolls can be frozen before baking for later use.
