Ingredients
Scale
- Brownies:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- Vanilla Frosting:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1–2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Holiday sprinkles (for decorating)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Whisk melted butter and sugar together until smooth.
- Add eggs and vanilla and mix until fully combined.
- Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined—do not overmix.
- Spread batter evenly into the pan and bake 20–25 minutes, or until the center is set.
- Let brownies cool completely before frosting.
- Make the frosting: Beat butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla, and enough milk to reach a smooth, spreadable consistency.
- Frost the cooled brownies and top with festive Christmas sprinkles.
- Slice and enjoy!
Notes
For extra fudgy brownies, slightly underbake and allow them to cool fully. Add food coloring to the frosting for red or green holiday variations. Store brownies in an airtight container for up to 4 days or freeze (without frosting) for up to 2 months.
