- 3/4 cup granulated sugar

- Mash bananas in a large bowl until smooth.
- Stir in melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla.

- Fold in flour just until combined. Add optional mix-ins if desired.
- Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake 50–60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool 10 minutes in pan, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
The riper the bananas, the better the flavor. For extra moisture, replace a few tablespoons of butter with yogurt or sour cream. This bread tastes even better the next day.
