- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder (optional)
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup heavy cream or coconut cream
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp sugar or honey
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish

- Add chicken to the crockpot.
- In a bowl, mix yogurt, garlic, ginger, garam masala, paprika, turmeric, cumin, and chili powder.
- Pour mixture over chicken and stir to coat.
- Add tomato sauce and sugar.
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours.
- Stir in butter and cream during the last 20 minutes.
- Shred or cube chicken as desired.
- Serve over rice or with naan bread.
Notes
For thicker sauce, remove lid during the last 30 minutes. Adjust spice level to taste.
