Ingredients

Scale
    • 4 oz cooked shrimp, finely chopped
    • 4 oz lump crab meat
    • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
    • 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
    • 1/4 cup canned green chiles
    • 1 tablespoon lime juice
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    • 810 small flour tortillas (or corn tortillas)
    • Oil spray or 1/4 cup neutral oil (for frying or brushing)

Optional for serving:

  • Sour cream
  • Salsa
  • Queso
  • Fresh cilantro

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) or heat oil in a skillet for frying.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine shrimp, crab meat, cream cheese, Monterey Jack, green chiles, lime juice, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Stir until the filling is creamy and well mixed.
  4. Warm tortillas slightly so they roll easily.
  5. Place 2–3 tablespoons of filling on each tortilla and roll tightly.
  6. For baking: Place taquitos seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet and spray lightly with oil. Bake 15–18 minutes or until crisp and golden.
  7. For frying: Fry taquitos seam-side down in hot oil for 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crispy.
  8. Serve warm with sour cream, salsa, queso, or cilantro.

Notes

For extra crispiness, brush tortillas with oil before baking. You can substitute imitation crab or use all shrimp if desired. These taquitos freeze well—freeze unbaked taquitos and bake directly from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
