- 1/4 cup warm water (110°F/45°C)
- 1/2 cup milk, warmed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 large egg
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup fresh or dried cranberries
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp orange zest
- Optional: powdered sugar glaze for topping

- In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water and let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, melted butter, salt, and egg. Stir in yeast mixture.
- Gradually add flour and knead until dough is smooth and elastic, about 5–7 minutes.
- Cover dough and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll dough into a rectangle on a floured surface.
- Mix cranberries, brown sugar, and orange zest, then sprinkle evenly over dough.
- Roll dough tightly into a log and place in a greased loaf pan.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly and drizzle with powdered sugar glaze if desired before slicing.
Notes
For extra flavor, soak dried cranberries in orange juice for 10 minutes before adding. This roll freezes well and can be reheated for a warm treat.
