- 1 lb breakfast sausage
- 6 slices white bread, cubed
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Optional: green onions or bell peppers for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350Β°F (175Β°C). Grease a 9Γ13-inch baking dish.
- Cook breakfast sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
- Layer cubed bread in the prepared baking dish. Top with cooked sausage and shredded cheddar cheese.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Pour evenly over the bread, sausage, and cheese mixture.
- Bake uncovered for 35β40 minutes, or until the casserole is set and golden on top.
- Garnish with chopped green onions or bell peppers if desired. Serve warm!
