- 1/2 cup chopped nuts or holiday sprinkles
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- In a medium saucepan, melt butter, sugar, and salt over medium heat.
- Stir continuously until the mixture reaches a deep golden color or 285–300°F (soft crack stage).
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour the hot toffee onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly.
- Immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot toffee and let sit for 2 minutes.
- Spread the melted chocolate into an even layer.
- Top with chopped nuts or festive sprinkles.
- Let cool completely at room temperature or refrigerate until firm.
