Description
Citrus Red Sangria is a bright and tangy twist on classic sangria, overflowing with juicy oranges, lemons, and limes. It’s a refreshing, zesty wine punch that’s perfect for brunch, patio sipping, or summer parties.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 bottle (750ml) dry red wine (like Garnacha or Rioja)
- ½ cup orange liqueur (like Cointreau or triple sec)
- ½ cup fresh orange juice
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 2 tablespoons sugar (optional, to taste)
- 1 orange, thinly sliced
- 1 lemon, thinly sliced
- 1 lime, thinly sliced
- 1 cup sparkling water or citrus soda (added before serving)
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Mix the Base: In a large pitcher, combine red wine, orange liqueur, orange juice, lemon juice, lime juice, and sugar if using. Stir until sugar is dissolved.
- Add Citrus: Add sliced orange, lemon, and lime to the pitcher and stir gently.
- Chill: Refrigerate for at least 2–4 hours to let the citrus flavors infuse.
- Serve: Add sparkling water or soda and ice just before serving. Pour into glasses and include citrus slices in each glass.
Notes
For a sweeter version, use citrus soda like Sprite instead of sparkling water. Blood oranges or pink grapefruit also make great additions for color and complexity.
