  • 12 tablespoons milk or cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add vanilla and salt, then mix in the flour until a soft dough forms.
  4. Press the shortbread dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter.
  6. Spread the cinnamon mixture over the shortbread base.
  7. Use a knife to swirl the cinnamon filling slightly into the dough.
  8. Bake for 22–26 minutes, or until lightly golden at the edges.
  9. Cool completely in the pan.
  10. Make the Glaze: Whisk powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
  11. Drizzle glaze over cooled bars, slice, and serve.

Notes

For extra cinnamon roll flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the filling. Bars store well in an airtight container for up to 5 days. For a thicker glaze, add more powdered sugar; for a thinner drizzle, add more milk.
