- 40 saltine crackers
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup crushed candy canes, nuts, or sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
- Arrange crackers in a single layer on the pan.
- Melt butter and brown sugar in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly. Bring to a gentle boil and cook 3 minutes.
- Pour toffee over crackers and spread gently.
- Bake 5 minutes until bubbly. Remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
- Let sit 2 minutes, then spread melted chocolate evenly. Add optional toppings.
- Chill 1–2 hours until firm. Break into pieces and serve.
