Description
These Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies are soft, buttery cookies filled with rich chocolate ganache in the center. Perfectly tender with a crisp edge, they’re a classic treat for holidays, parties, or any chocolate lover’s delight!
Ingredients
Scale
- For the Cookies
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- For the Chocolate Filling
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on baking sheets. Press the center of each cookie gently with your thumb or a spoon to create an indentation.
- Bake 12–14 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Allow cookies to cool on the sheet for 5 minutes.
- While cookies cool, melt chocolate chips with heavy cream over low heat or in a microwave, stirring until smooth.
- Fill each cookie indentation with chocolate ganache and let set before serving.
Notes
Try adding a sprinkle of sea salt on top of the chocolate for extra flavor. You can also use jam or peanut butter instead of chocolate for a different twist!
