Description

These Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies are soft, buttery cookies filled with rich chocolate ganache in the center. Perfectly tender with a crisp edge, they’re a classic treat for holidays, parties, or any chocolate lover’s delight!


Ingredients

  • For the Cookies
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • For the Chocolate Filling
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Mix in vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  4. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on baking sheets. Press the center of each cookie gently with your thumb or a spoon to create an indentation.
  5. Bake 12–14 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Allow cookies to cool on the sheet for 5 minutes.
  6. While cookies cool, melt chocolate chips with heavy cream over low heat or in a microwave, stirring until smooth.
  7. Fill each cookie indentation with chocolate ganache and let set before serving.

Notes

Try adding a sprinkle of sea salt on top of the chocolate for extra flavor. You can also use jam or peanut butter instead of chocolate for a different twist!
