  • 1 1/2 cups orzo pasta
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt & pepper, to taste
  • Optional: red pepper flakes for heat

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned, about 4–5 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  2. Add onion to the skillet and sautΓ© until softened, about 3 minutes.
  3. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Add orzo and toast for 1 minute.
  5. Pour in chicken broth, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  6. Bring to a simmer, then cover and cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Add broccoli florets, cover again, and cook for 3–4 minutes until tender.
  8. Return the sausage to the pan and stir in Parmesan cheese.
  9. Cook another 1–2 minutes until creamy and heated through.
  10. Adjust seasoning, garnish with red pepper flakes if desired, and serve warm.
