- 12 oz chicken sausage, sliced
- 1 1/2 cups orzo pasta
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 1/2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- Optional: red pepper flakes for heat
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned, about 4β5 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- Add onion to the skillet and sautΓ© until softened, about 3 minutes.
- Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add orzo and toast for 1 minute.
- Pour in chicken broth, Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Bring to a simmer, then cover and cook for 8β10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add broccoli florets, cover again, and cook for 3β4 minutes until tender.
- Return the sausage to the pan and stir in Parmesan cheese.
- Cook another 1β2 minutes until creamy and heated through.
- Adjust seasoning, garnish with red pepper flakes if desired, and serve warm.
