- 1 lb breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 6 cups cubed bread (day-old or slightly toasted)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
- Optional: chopped green onions or diced bell peppers for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Spread cubed bread evenly in the prepared dish.
- Sprinkle cooked sausage and shredded cheddar cheese over the bread.
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread, sausage, and cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes. Remove foil and bake another 10–15 minutes until golden and eggs are fully set.
- Garnish with optional green onions or bell peppers. Serve warm.
Notes
This casserole can be assembled the night before for an easy morning bake. You can substitute sausage with bacon or ham and add your favorite veggies for variation.
