- 1 1/4 cups brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Optional: 1 tsp ground cinnamon or nutmeg for extra warmth
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream butter with brown and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in eggs, vanilla, and maple syrup until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and optional spices.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until a soft dough forms.
- Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto prepared sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
- Bake 10–12 minutes, until edges are set and tops are lightly golden.
- Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For extra maple flavor, drizzle a little maple glaze over cooled cookies. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze dough for later baking.
