Description

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Optional: 1 tsp ground cinnamon or nutmeg for extra warmth

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter with brown and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs, vanilla, and maple syrup until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and optional spices.
  5. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until a soft dough forms.
  6. Drop dough by tablespoonfuls onto prepared sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake 10–12 minutes, until edges are set and tops are lightly golden.
  8. Cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For extra maple flavor, drizzle a little maple glaze over cooled cookies. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days or freeze dough for later baking.
