Ingredients

- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast (1 packet)
- 1/2 cup warm milk (110Β°F / 45Β°C)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- Optional: egg wash for brushing tops
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk and let sit for 5β10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add melted butter, egg, and yeast mixture to dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for 8β10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1β2 hours, until doubled in size.
- Punch down dough and divide into 12 equal portions. Shape into rolls and place on a greased baking sheet.
- Cover and let rise for another 30β45 minutes.
- Optional: brush tops with egg wash for a shiny finish.
- Bake at 375Β°F (190Β°C) for 15β20 minutes, until golden brown.
- Cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm with butter or jam!
