Description
This Bloody Red Velvet Popcorn is spooky, crunchy, and sinfully delicious — the ultimate Halloween snack! Coated in sweet red velvet candy glaze and drizzled with ‘bloody’ white chocolate, it’s creepy, colorful, and perfect for gory movie nights or themed parties.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 cups popped popcorn (about 1/3 cup kernels)
- 1 cup white chocolate chips or white melting wafers
- 1/2 cup red velvet cake mix (dry)
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- Red food coloring or red candy melts (for bloody drizzle)
- 1 tbsp coconut oil or vegetable shortening (optional, for melting)
- Sprinkles or edible glitter (optional)
- Wax or parchment paper for cooling
Instructions
- Pop the popcorn: Prepare popcorn and place in a large mixing bowl. Remove any unpopped kernels.
- Make coating: Melt white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second bursts, stirring until smooth. Stir in red velvet cake mix and powdered sugar until well blended.
- Coat popcorn: Pour red velvet mixture over the popcorn and gently toss to coat evenly. Spread onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Make bloody drizzle: Melt additional white chocolate and tint with red food coloring or use red candy melts. Drizzle over coated popcorn.
- Cool and serve: Let popcorn sit at room temperature for 30–45 minutes until set. Break apart and enjoy!
Notes
Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Add Halloween sprinkles or candy eyes for extra spooky fun. Use gel food coloring for deeper red intensity.
