- 4 cups frozen hashbrowns, thawed
- 1 lb breakfast sausage
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuits
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sprinkle flour over the sausage drippings and cook 1–2 minutes. Gradually whisk in milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Cook until thickened to make sausage gravy.
- In the prepared baking dish, spread thawed hashbrowns evenly. Top with cooked sausage and pour gravy over the top. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese if using.
- Arrange biscuit pieces over the casserole.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, until biscuits are golden brown and casserole is heated through.
- Serve hot for breakfast or brunch.
Notes
You can use your favorite type of biscuits. For extra flavor, add a pinch of paprika or fresh herbs to the gravy.
