- 4 cups mashed sweet potatoes (about 4 medium sweet potatoes)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- For topping:
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup chopped pecans (optional)
- 1/4 cup melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Prepare sweet potato mixture: In a large bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, granulated sugar, eggs, milk, melted butter, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix until smooth.
- Make topping: In a separate bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, chopped pecans, and melted butter until crumbly.
- Assemble: Spread sweet potato mixture evenly in the baking dish. Sprinkle topping evenly over the sweet potatoes.
- Bake: Bake for 30-35 minutes until the topping is golden and crisp.
- Serve: Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
For a nut-free version, omit pecans and add extra flour to the topping. You can also add mini marshmallows on top during the last 5 minutes of baking for a classic touch.
