Instructions
Instructions
- Prepare patties: In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, chopped onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently and form into 4–6 patties.
- Cook patties: Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook patties 4–5 minutes per side until browned and cooked through. Remove patties and set aside.
- Make gravy: In the same skillet, melt butter. Whisk in flour and cook 1–2 minutes until lightly browned.
- Gradually whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Cook, stirring constantly, until gravy thickens, about 3–5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Return patties to the skillet, spoon gravy over them, and simmer 2–3 minutes.
- Serve hot with mashed potatoes, rice, or vegetables.
Notes
For extra flavor, sauté mushrooms in the gravy before adding the patties. You can also add a splash of soy sauce or balsamic vinegar for deeper richness.
