- 3 very ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Mash bananas in a large bowl until smooth.
- Mix in melted butter, sugar, beaten eggs, and vanilla until combined.
- Add baking soda, salt, and optional cinnamon; stir gently.
- Fold in flour until just combined, then fold in chopped nuts.
- Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake 55–65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool in pan 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor. Toast nuts for extra crunch and aroma. Banana nut bread keeps well for 2–3 days wrapped at room temperature or can be frozen for longer storage.
