- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten

- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips or nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas and melted butter.
- Whisk in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
- Stir in the baking soda, salt, and cinnamon if using.
- Add the flour and mix gently until just combined—do not overmix.
- Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if desired.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For maximum flavor, use very ripe bananas with brown spots. You can add mix-ins like walnuts, pecans, or chocolate chips. Store the loaf wrapped at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze slices for quick breakfasts.
