Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp grated Gruyère or Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh herbs (chives, parsley, or tarragon) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease 4 small ramekins with butter.
  2. Pour 1 tbsp heavy cream into each ramekin.
  3. Crack one egg into each ramekin and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Sprinkle grated cheese over each egg.
  5. Bake for 12–15 minutes, until the whites are set but yolks remain slightly runny.
  6. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve immediately with toast or a light salad.
