Ingredients
Scale
- 1 bottle (750ml) dry red wine (Tempranillo, Merlot, or Garnacha)
- ½ cup brandy
- ¼ cup orange liqueur (like Cointreau or triple sec)
- ½ cup orange juice (freshly squeezed preferred)
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup or sugar (optional)
- 2 apples (Gala or Honeycrisp), chopped
- 1 large orange, thinly sliced
- 1 lemon, sliced (optional for added brightness)
- 1 cup sparkling water or citrus soda (added before serving)
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Mix Liquids: In a large pitcher, combine red wine, brandy, orange liqueur, orange juice, and maple syrup or sugar. Stir until sweetener is fully dissolved.
- Add Fruit: Add chopped apples, orange slices, and lemon slices if using. Stir to combine.
- Chill: Cover and refrigerate for at least 2–4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
- Finish & Serve: Right before serving, stir in sparkling water or soda and plenty of ice. Serve in glasses with fruit in each.
Notes
Use sweet apples like Gala or Fuji for the best flavor. Add a cinnamon stick for a fall-inspired twist. For a lighter version, reduce or omit the brandy and add extra citrus juice.
