Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs and vanilla until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and any optional add-ins.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets.
- Bake 10–12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Notes
For soft cookies, do not overbake. Mix-ins can be customized for different flavors and textures. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days, or freeze dough for later use.
