These 4th of July Cookies are soft, chewy, and packed with red, white, and blue fun! Made with classic sugar cookie dough and patriotic sprinkles or M&Ms, they’re a festive and easy treat perfect for Independence Day celebrations.

- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup red, white, and blue sprinkles or M&Ms
Instructions
- Cream Butter and Sugar: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: Add the egg and vanilla and beat until combined.
- Add Dry Ingredients: Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt until just combined. Fold in sprinkles or M&Ms.
- Scoop and Bake: Drop tablespoon-sized dough balls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 10–12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool and Enjoy: Allow cookies to cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Chill the dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies. For extra festive flair, press a few M&Ms or sprinkles on top of each cookie before baking. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
